Officials said spending will prioritize infrastructure, public services and debt repayment, even as the country works to tighten its fiscal position over the medium term.<\/p>\n
Uganda\u2019s budget places strong emphasis on economic expansion, with expectations of higher growth driven by key sectors including agriculture, industry and emerging oil production. Authorities have also outlined plans to reduce domestic borrowing while completing major infrastructure projects, including energy and transport developments intended to support long-term industrial growth.<\/p>\n
In Tanzania, policymakers focused on increasing domestic revenue collection and reducing reliance on external financing. The budget highlights efforts to strengthen economic self-reliance, expand tax performance and support infrastructure development as the country adapts to tighter global financing conditions.<\/p>\n
Rwanda presented a Rwf7.8 trillion budget for 2026\/27, marking a 12% increase compared to the previous fiscal year. Finance Minister Yusuf Murangwa said the government will direct most of the spending toward agriculture, infrastructure, energy, industrial development and job creation. The plan also includes significant allocations for social services such as health, education and social protection, alongside governance and public service reforms.<\/p>\n
