President William Ruto has rewarded Migori Youth FC with a new 51-seater team bus and financial support following the club’s successful campaign that earned promotion to Kenya’s top-tier football league.
The President hosted the National Super League champions at State House in Nairobi, where he officially handed over the bus as part of efforts to strengthen the club’s preparations for competing at the highest level of Kenyan football.
The new vehicle is expected to ease the team’s travel challenges, especially during away matches across the country, while providing players and technical staff with more reliable transport during the demanding league season.
Ruto also announced a KSh10 million support package for Migori Youth FC, aimed at helping the club manage operational needs as it transitions into top-flight competition.
During the ceremony, the President congratulated the players, coaches, and officials for their achievement and praised the club’s rise as an example of the growing opportunities for young footballers in Kenya.
The event was attended by club representatives, local leaders, and football stakeholders, including Migori County officials who welcomed the support as a boost for sports development in the region.
Ruto further highlighted ongoing government efforts to improve sports infrastructure in Kenya, including stadium construction and renovation projects intended to create better facilities for athletes and clubs.
For Migori Youth FC, the support marks a significant moment as the club begins a new chapter in its history. The team’s promotion to the top division brings increased expectations, tougher competition, and a greater spotlight on football development in western Kenya.
With improved transport and additional financial backing, the club will now focus on building a competitive squad capable of making an impact among Kenya’s elite football teams.
